I love to coach, guide and mentor.
The way I look at is: if my experience, lessons and insights I’ve gleaned over the years can help people, why not share them?
One day I was talking with a loyal reader of PediatricInc about this very topic, and she suggested I do coaching sessions.
She went on to say, “…you know doctors do not get training in business, management, marketing, collections… having somebody to reach out to, that has business and practice management training is valuable.”
“Like a practice management coach?” I asked.
She said, “ yeah, that is a good way to put it.”
My loyal reader and I talked a little while longer about this idea. By the time we finished up, she had convinced me to make myself available to coach doctors with their practice.
Below are a just a few topics I have a particular interest in. But managing a practice – as I’m sure you know – quite complex. So the range of topics is not limited to the list below.
Coaching Topics Can Include:
- Opening a Private Practice
- Evaluating Cost & Revenue Opportunities
- Customer Service (Training)
- Marketing Your Practice
- How to Leverage Social Media
- Web Design
- Key Financial Indicators
- Account Receivable Management
Rates and Packages

During these sessions, practice managers or physician owners need basic direction. In other words, the assurance they are on the right path or that they have not overlooked something important.
Others use the single coaching sessions to get a better understanding of the issue at hand. They find that talking with somebody that is experienced and familiar with the medical practice environment helps them organize their thoughts and prioritize task.

Although the Flexible Package can be used for a variety of things, the package was created with the solo-practitioner or the two doc practice in mind that does not yet have an office manager or a practice administrator on staff yet, thus requires access to coaching services free of a bound schedule.
For example, let’s say you are a solo physician, and you started your practice a few months ago. You’re managing the patients fine (because you were trained to do so), but you’re at a point where the administrative and practice management task are becoming overwhelming.
